History
Mossburn Blended Malt Scotch Speyside pays homage to the art of barrel finishing and the innovative spirit of Scotland. It represents a brand that values the depth and quality that a port bottle finish can deliver in a bourbon. Each barrel is a testament to the makers' craftsmanship, who aim to capture the essence of the finishing barrel, creating a classic and distinctive bourbon. It is a unique spirit crafted as an experiment in mind. Initially it was blended from a Speyside Single Malt Scotch which underwent a secondary maturation in Mossburn Cask Bill #2. These were specially built Oloroso Sherry Butts with heavily charred virgin American Oak heads. The result is a harmonious fusion of flavors that evoke the rich heritage of Scotch whisky making, showcasing notes of dried fruits, spices, and a subtle smokiness, all balanced by a smooth finish that invites exploration.
