RD1 Spirits was founded to ask “what’s next” for the future of bourbon. In 2020, Lexington entrepreneurs - enamored by gutsy mavericks of the late 1800s and the unbelievable bourbon story - established a new brand, RD One, to honor this meaningful era for Lexington bourbon and to help write the next chapter.
RD1's first whiskey release honored the late William Tarr, known as the Lexington bourbon entrepreneur. Under the brand name Old Wm. Tarr, they released a seven-year Kentucky Bourbon blended with an eight-year Rye, a dimensional blend marketed as the Manchester Rye and offered at two proof points, 114 and 96.4.
The 114-proof Old. Wm. Tarr Manchester Reserve at 114 proof was met with rave reviews, earning Double Platinum in the 2022 Ascot Awards, Platinum in the 2021 Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards, and Gold in the 2021 Denver International Spirits Competition.
